Summary

River Falls Municipal Utility (RFMU), in conjunction with the Wisconsin Focus on Energy program, offers a variety of rebates to residential electric customers for upgrading to energy efficient equipment. Incentives currently exist for refrigerator and freezer recycling, A/C system tune-ups, and programmable thermostats. RFMU's Multi-Family Energy Savings Program also provides a host of incentives for energy efficient upgrades to condos and apartments. RFMU is also encouraging its customers to plant trees around their homes for the energy saving and environmental benefits. Finally, the Energy Star Home Performance Program provides a rebate of up to $2,400 of whole-building efficiency measures taken by homeowners.

RFMU also provides an array of programs for income-qualifying customers and that encourage energy efficiency. The Refrigerator Replacement Program allows qualifying customers to upgrade their old refrigerator to a new, more efficient model at no cost. With help from the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program, a customer credit program is also being provided to customers to assist in managing energy cost from month to month.   Finally, RFMU works with local agencies to provide free weatherization services for qualifying customers.
